Calling all kids, kids at heart, and aviation background buffs. On Saturday June 19, 2010 the Boulder Municipal Airport will be getting The Fourth Annual Airport Day and Open up House. The public is invited to attend all scheduled actions and tour the airport facilities. There will be children’s activities and aircraft shows from many eras of aviation. Anticipate to see vintage and modern aircraft – civilian and army. This is an opportunity to comprehend everything the airport provides the Boulder region neighborhood.
Owned and operated by the Town of Boulder, the Boulder Municipal airport has served the Boulder community because 1928. It offers assistance services for civilian, business, legislation enforcement, and fire / rescue operations. It provides a base for glider-soaring clubs, flight coaching schools, aircraft maintenance, charter aircraft, and aircraft revenue, No commercial airways run out of Boulder Municipal Airport. The airport is open up for day and evening operations and the terminal creating can be accessed by the common public during the day.
Airport Day Routine of Activities:
six:thirty a.m. – Scorching air balloon joint raise-off
nine a.m. – Aircraft exhibit opens. Shown aircraft will include a: Globe War II Beechcraft Do-forty five cargo plane Army Blackhawk helicopter TBM “Avenger” WWII Torpedo Bomber World War II T-28 Trojan coach Beech Staggerwing bi-plane Fairchild antique open up-cockpit plane Gliders Medevac helicopters Experimental airplanes nine a.m. – Vietnam Airlift Presentation -a individual recount by pilot & veteran Robert Resling USAF – Retired
nine a.m. – Noon Free airplane rides for kids ages 8 to 17 (initial come, first-served basis)
eleven:thirty a.m. – Flyover by a MiG-17 jet fighter
Noon – Parachuting demonstration
twelve:thirty – “Aircraft Security and Human Factors,” presentation by Jamie Martin from US Aero
three p.m. – Aircraft exhibition region closes to the manifeste

There will be a variety of other exhibits and actions. – Discounted helicopter rides will be available on-site. – Fly a pc flight simulator (Sponsored by Wings More than the Rockies Air & Space Museum) – KidSpace activity area exactly where children can learn how to build model rockets, balsa solid wood airplanes, candy airplanes and paper helicopters. – Civil Air Patrol search and rescue aircraft display. – Sport aircraft shows and coaching info. – Boulder Fire Department display. – Boulder Emergency Squad display. – Food and refreshment suppliers will have objects available for buy.
